This Saturday's weather was really good, so I thought why not go pay a visit to Basel, Switzerland?
From Freiburg (where I am studying now) to Basel it's about 1.5 hours of Regional Express(slower trains), or half an hour with Inter City Express.
I first learned Basel from a German textbook. It is known as a "Pendler" City. It's a joint point of Germany, France, and Switzerland. Many Germans and French travel across borders to Basel for work. The Rhine River goes through the city and divide the city into two parts. It has a population of about 200,000.
I climbed all the way up of the Basel Minster to see the whole city.
